Events I have been to (Cross Reference to TV and Film Studies)
Invasion Derry
BFI Film Academy Nerve Centre
One of the major and most important events that I went to was the BFI Film Academy in the Nerve Centre; which ran from the 16th October to February of this year on a Saturday from 10AM to 5PM. Each week, we got masterclasses from professionals in the business on different areas of film-making; we also spent weeks working on a fictional film called "Limbo" in which I was Script Supervisor. In the course; I also got a chance to make new friends and get new experiences by working with the technology that are used in by the professionals in the film business, I had great fun doing the BFI Film Academy Course and I would either recommend it others or if I had a chance, I would do it again.
Brick Wonders Exhibition
On Saturday, I went to see the Brick Wonders Exhibition at the Nerve Centre; this is where a group of Lego Enthusiasts make models of the Ancient and Modern Wonders of the World such as the Great Wall of China, the Old London Bridge and the Great Pyramid of Giza completely out of Lego bricks. They also made some local locations well, such as the local airport and even the International Space Station; I think that these were some of the most impressive Lego models that I have seen in my life.

Screening of "He Named me Malala"
On Tuesday, we had a private screening of the documentary of "He Named Me Malala" with Anneta Prem, which tells the story of 18 year old Noble Piece Prize winner Laureate Malala Yousafzai, who was shot by the Taliban for speaking up for Women's rights to education in Pakistan; which sparked an outcry from around the world. The documentary raises awareness around issues such as discrimination and racism, it seeks to educate it's audience on accepting diversity in all forms; whether it is race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, minorities or those with physical disabilities.
This film was part of the education programme, which showcases feature films, short films and documentaries from around the world in an effort to bring different cultures and their landscapes, beliefs and languages into focus. I found this documentary very inspirational as it helped me realize the problems that the world has that people are living in fear and are afraid to raise their voice and speak out against such a strict regime; but it also told me what I can do to help these people break free from these strict regimes and get the education they are entitled to like everyone else.
